In 2003, four of Adelaide’s rawest mother f’ers released their debut full length album entitled Who’s Your Step Daddy to critical ridicule from pop culture and received ZERO commercial radio play.
Why?…..Well when you combine a group of filthy blokes, a whole lot of alcohol, various ilicit substances, a gaggle of dirty birds and then translate that into the form Who’s Your Step Daddy, the reaction from the public could only be that of utter disgust.
But somehow, this LP containing a dirty dozen of the rawest joints you ever heard in your life became an Aussie Hip-Hop classic and built the foundation for The Funkoars to arguably become Australia’s only Hip-Hop act to have a cult following… without any commercial support.
Discontinued in 2007, Who’s Your Step Daddy was a covetted album to have in your CD or Vinyl collection and now in 2011 the Funkoars are proud to re-release this classic album digitally through iTunes BUT, for those hardcore fans out there that already have the album, they have released the album in instrumental format for the first time – so if you call yourself a REAL Funkoars fan, go cop those instrumentals and drop some of your own verbal filth on there!
Who’s Your Step Daddy Re-Release & Instrumental version are available for purchase on iTunes now.
Funkoars have also recently announced that they will be releasesing their 4th full legth LP in June 2011. Promising to deliver their finest work yet, the boys have been locked down in the studio bangin’ out beats, cuts and rhymes and have put a halt on all live performances till the records is complete. Stay tuned right here for updates on the albums progress and be sure to check out the Golden Era mixtape to hear exclusive, unreleased material from the enternally badass Funkoars.
