The Psyde Projects – Re-Dizzled

19 12 2012

The Psyde Projects, D-Fro, ILResponce and Mr Moonshine’s new single Re-Dizzled, is given an animated interpretation courtesy of an amazing local artist, OhnoesD-Fro, ILResponce and Mr Moonshine’s, who are all beat maker’s, who’s musical creations are littered with samples from diggers’ records and unpretentious lyrics.

Re Dizzled

The Psyde Projects have an affinity with vinyl and the MPC, and together the three colour their music with genres and styles off a variety of records. Their catchy hook lines and punchy rhymes send dance floors stir crazy while the posers still get pleased. D’fro & ILResponse deliver the goodness through their raps, while Moonshine slices and dices over their beats. Amid all this global conquest is not far from their thoughts.

The new single and video clip Re-Dizzled was launched Nov 24th 2012 at Strictly BMX. Tom Showtime has also released a remix of Re-Dizzled, you can check that out below.

Boats, Rhymes & Life

28 02 2012

Melbourne’s first ever floating block party Boats, Rhymes & Life. Jump around to bangin’ beats and sure fire rhymes over 2 levels aboard the good ship Victoria Star.

Headlining the top deck is Mantra whose instant classic Got Me Wrong has become part of everyone’s play list over the last few months. Mantra will be rocking the boat with his crew Bam Bam and DJ Wasabi.

We also have DJ/Producer extraordinaire Nick Thayer headlining the lower deck. He has worked with some legendary international artists such as A Skillz and DJ Yoda on seminal labels like Bomb Strikes, Insane Bangers, Southern Fried and Hot Cakes. We think Nick adds a nice twist to the party.

We’re also super excited to have The Psyde Projects on board who are fresh from supporting Pete Rock! MC’s D-Fro, ILResponce and their DJ Mr. Moonshine are purveyors of that super funky golden era style hip hop. Their album Welcome To Boomtown is a must, if you love that old school party style hip hop.

Then there’s the super fresh DJ line-up… DJ Perplex, two-time Redbull Threestyle Australian Champion and three-time Australian DMC champion. A true turntable technician and chief party rocker. It doesn’t stop there, DJ Flagrant who recently won the Victorian heat of the Redbull Threestyle comp is on hand to make the party bounce. Did we mention sneaker freaker and superstar ‘she-jayM.A.F.I.A will also be dropping some serious heat?

DJ Prequel in the house! Having supported hip hop legends such as MF Doom, De La Soul, Odd Future and Grand Wizard Theodore you know Prequel will have the dancefloor heaving.

Zack Rampage is also on deck, you may have heard him spinning old school hip hop across the airwaves on PBS every Friday afternoon. Finally we have Claymore 74 who has been killing it, at the Fabulous Funk parties with The Soul City Sound System. Fat beats and a killer line-up on a boat? Hell yeah!

And remember what happens at sea, stays at sea!
$36 per passenger + Booking Fee

WIN a double pass: Hit us at allaussiecomps@gmail.com with your mobile, name and the answer to this question: What is the name of Mantra’s lastest album? We have two sets to giveaway. Winners will be contact Friday March 2.

allaussie hip hop spotlight on: The Psyde Projects – Welcome to Boomtown

18 11 2010

Welcome to Boomtown is The Psyde Project’s first full-length album and to promote their album (which they are getting pressed on vinyl) they’ve set out to bring the ruckus upon unsuspecting crowds throughout Australia.
The Psyde Projects are Melbourne’s chief party rockers and finest purveyors of that ol’ ‘Golden Age’ hip-hop sound! Their music, their delivery and on-stage chemistry brings a package that rocks the house. Irrespective of taste, crowds jive and bounce to The Psyde Projects flavour!
D-Fro, ILResponce and Mr Moonshine’s music is littered with samples from diggers’ records and unpretentious lyrics. All three of them beat-makers, The Psyde Projects have an affinity with vinyl and the MPC, and together the three colour their music with genres and styles off a variety of records.

D-Fro has worked with the Inflatables, offered vocals for local favourites Scattermish, The Melodics, and Mu-Gen. The man’s talents, however, do not stop with the mic, as D’Fro contributes to the production of The Psyde Projects sound. Place him behind the trustee turntables and he’ll deliver on point, and then some more. However, not much else is known about this mysterious individual.

ILResponce is one of the most modest but hard working emcees in the city. Spending hours on rhymes at work – and MPC breakdowns – ILResponce will stop for nobody. Even if you ask him nicely. A keen (and sometimes addictive) digger, the man will leave no crate un-combed to discover a loop or break. Money, credit cards, girlfriends are only but small compromises in his journey of diggin’ in the crates.

Mr Moonshine plays regular gigs at highly respected venues around Melbourne. Whether dropping underground hip hop, disco, fonk, pop, house, bangin’ b’more, or anything else that tickles his fancy, his sets are eclectic and interesting yet still remain upbeat. Depending on the venue and mood, Moonshine can mix his tunes hip-hop style or he can play deep, and soulful. Production wise, Moonshine delivers the right kinda flavour to the table!

Keep your ears peeled for The Psyde Projects who are set to release their second EP shortly, and are already hard working on their second album. Impressed?
We hope so!
