360 – Falling & Flying

8 07 2011

True to the title of his upcoming album Falling & Flying, Melbourne hip-hop artist 360 has been through some serious ups and downs over the past 12 months. All that is about to change with the impending release of Falling & Flying, which after a feverish wait is now due to drop on 30th September.

Radio listeners will already be familiar with the hit single Just Got Started, which features Triple J favourite Pez and rides atop a supremely funky Whitest Boy Alive sample. Others will have caught 360 live with Pez and Maya Jupiter recently on the national Change It For The Better tour.

After announcing his partnership with Soulmate/EMI in mid-2010, and leaking album track The Take Off (currently sitting on 100k+ views on YouTube) to his growing legion of fans, 360 is a former underground emcee now sitting on top of the world. Now with new single Throw It Away featuring alt-folk hero Josh Pyke currently burning up indie and commercial radio, his upcoming album Falling & Flying looks set to be a juggernaut when it hits stores on September 30th. The single is available as an iTunes bundle with the previously mentioned album track The Take Off included.

Meanwhile the provocative video for the track has been released online, last week being voted as Channel V’s Ripe Clip of the Week (for the second time this year!) and featured on the YouTube homepage. The video sees office workers fighting over patented ‘Sixty’ dollar bills… while 360 throws them all away!

360 also recently co-hosted Channel V’s Most Requested show, going to air yesterday, last Monday (4th July).  Having toured with Bliss n Eso and Drapht and worked with M-Phazes & Pez – teaming up in the group Forthwrite360 has spent nearly a decade in Melbourne’s hip-hop scene as one of Australia’s finest underground battle MC’s. In 2008 he teamed up with another Melbourne based Pez, and featured on his single The Festival Song, which was voted number 7 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2008.

Horrorshow – Public Consumption (Free Download) + New Merch

2 05 2011

This is a brand new track called Public Consumption from Elefant Traks crew Horrorshow. This little gem was cooked up recently and has now cracked over 1000 downloads in less then 24 hours. Attending Fort Street High School, whose musical output includes Josh Pyke, Unkle Ho (The Herd) and Joelistics among others, both Solo and Adit were heavily involved in bands, ranging from jazz through to rock.

Along with fellow school mates and current One Dayers, Spit Syndicate, they embraced hip hop as the genre made big strides in Australia. Horrorshow have officially solidified their position in the ranks of Australias finest. Check out the new range of Horrorshow merch available at Groovin The Moo and the Running On Air Tour. Each item comes with a free bandtag download card which includes two unreleased acoustic recordings (American Girl and Waiting for the 5.04) from the recent show @ The Basement in Sydney this year. It also includes the brand new song Public Consumption as well as a few songs from the Inside Story and Grey Space albums. You can’t get these acoustic songs anywhere except this sick little card.
