The 7″ release is pressed on clear vinyl with colour poster wrap and cardboard sleeve and was available at the Taylor Made Tactix, Matchless Gift and Everyday triple launch held on Saturday May 18. Remaining copies will be available through the Butterthief online store. Equality is Everyday’s recently released 14 track full length debut album featuring production and guest verses by K21, Realizm, Mat Rafle, Koolta, Tomorrow and up coming producer Manic, with scratches by DJ Snair.

In the wake of his first release in 2012 Occupy All Beats with brother Tomorrow, Everyday returned quick with his follow up solo LP Equality. WIth the lead single and video Til Lamb Become Lion produced by Realizm setting the tone, Everyday is already back with the 7″ featuring two of his favourite joints from the album.

Everyday is an Adelaide MC with a passion for music across the board. Shedding light on the big issues and current state of affairs he naturally gravitates towards positive subject matter. As the name suggests Equality is an album that promotes equal rights, Indigenous parity, and unification whilst exposing political agendas, conspiracies and power tactics.

Everyday – Equality

29 04 2013

Everyday is an Adelaide emcee that was raised in a home where music was always being played, and with fond memories of staying up til the early hours of the morning with the entire household singing and dancing to “Saturday night jukebox”, it came naturally when he decided to start making his own music.

552904_513900962006869_1943552785_n

Picking up a set of sticks, Everyday’s first musical adventure started as a drummer and songwriter, playing along side collaborator Tomorrow in a hardcore band, where he also had his first taste of being up on stage, a taste that would grow in the years to come.

However his passion was Hip Hop and playing in a band was cool, but always seemed a little unnatural to be making a different genre of music than what was playing in his headphones. So when the band split up and went their separate ways, the live instruments were put down and the pen and pad was picked up. His like-minded best mate, Tomorrow, had the same idea and Tomorrow & Everyday were born.

Playing some local shows and sharing the stage with the likes of Reason, Briggs, Delta, Motion, Dialect & Despair and Koolta to name a few, 2012 saw Everyday’s first release with Tomorrow & EverydayOccupy All Beats EP. Everyday makes Hip Hop that not only inspires but also exemplifies a conscious awareness and action towards some heavy, and at times, overlooked issues. Close to home and not afraid to speak the truth, Everyday has arrived and is now ready to drop his debut LP Equality on Butterthief.

The Official release date for the Everyday album Equality is 30th April 2013. This solo debut features production and guest verses from the likes of K21, Realizm, Matt Rafle, Koolta, Tomorrow and upcoming producer Manic with cuts by DJ Snair.

Available through Butterthief, iTunes and select music stores the album will also coincide with a series of 7″ Vinyl releases. More news on that soon.

Koolta releases new single – Poison feat. Prime

10 09 2012

The last two months have been momentous for the Adelaide MC and Producer Koolta. In July, he released the eagerly anticipated debut album The Extraordinary Average Joe (Obese Distribution), sold out his Adelaide album launch, and won over a crowd of 6000+ when opening for the Hilltop Hoods at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

In August, he was announced one of the winners of the JJJ Unearthed Parklife Competition and the MRC’s (Media Resource Centre of SA) Clip It! Initiative. And now, the beginning of September marks the release of the impressive new single, Poison. Musically, the song is incredibly catchy, with it’s double time hook, punchy drums, hard bass, crunchy synth and driving keys.

Lyrically, it’s intriguingly dark. It’s this juxtaposition that makes Poison so compelling. Poison features Soulmate Records’ (360, Pez) Prime. The MC’s guest verse shows why he is renowned as one of the finest lyricists in the country. Poison is available to the public for free download here.
Credits: Produced, mixed, recorded and written by Koolta. Guest verse written by Prime.

Koolta – The Extraordinary Average Joe

10 07 2012

Adelaide MC/Producer Koolta has just released the second single, Birth, from his debut album The Extraordinary Average Joe (out this Friday, 13 July in stores nationally). The single is available for free download from Koolta’s triple j unearthed page here.

Having already released two well received independent EPs, Koolta continues his DIY ethic handling all production, writing, recording and mixing on the new album.

This is music that lives up to this bold statement. Koolta has crafted multi-layered instrumentals with the use of live instrumentation and synths, rather than sampling. The lyrics are not the typical bragging so often found in the genre, but rather deep introspective lyrics examining the self and greater society.

From the socialist critique of excessive wealth on Possessions to the confronting family issues on Let MeKoolta demonstrates a maturity beyond his years, and provides an honest poetic voice for the voiceless. Guests on the album include two of the country’s best lyricists, Prime (Soulmate Records) and national slam poetry champion Omar Musa. Koolta has got the tick of approval from hip hop legends the Hilltop Hoods and will be opening for them at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on their Speaking In Tongues Tour in July 2012.
