Mr. Ruckman – The Born-Again Humanist

10 06 2013

One of the more impressive organisms to have emerged from the primordial soup is the KadusRuckmanopolis, an intimidating and cumbersome species of Australian rapper who has evolved a higher form of lyricism.

Mr Ruckman

He can be found either shattering his opponents self-worth, as well as future prospects of mating, or fertilising recording studios with rhymes more potent then a red kangaroos penis. His purposes can be as noble as the telling of a story, to as narcissistic as promoting his own insanity, if he has not already dissolved into delusions of grandeur about his average-sized genitalia.

Emerging triumphantly from where his debut signed off, The Born-Again Humanist shows a ‘re-born’ artist expressing new and developed ideas and values. ‘Born-Again’ not in the tradition religious sense, but infact the contrary, with evolution and humanism being the underlying theme throughout. Mr. Ruckman presents lyrics of a profound nature and skilful caliber, complimenting the raw production of local musicians to acclaimed hip-hop producers Simplex and Jacob Giles.

From writing eloquently on controversial subjects to exploring human nature, Mr. Ruckman breaks free of conventional hip-hop topics and speaks on the importance of knowledge, freedom of speech, secularism, reason and forward thinking.

The Born-Again Humanist includes his circulating singles Adam & Eve; a rock-infused comedic number fuelled by a dynamic live band, and Mammoth; a sharp-tongued, double-time flow with a monster backing by Austrian-born producer Jacob Giles. Both singles are available on iTunes with Adam & Eve currently seeing airplay on Triple J Unearthed.

The record also features a unique hip-hop re-working of Crucify Your Mind by underground folk legend Rodriguez, featured in the recent award-winning documentary Searching for Sugar Man. Sampled and co-produced by Mr. Ruckman himself, the song has re-invented a cult classic and seen praise from die-hard Rodriguez. Ladies and gentleman of the educated world, we present to you, the born-again… Mr.Ruckman

It is this distinctive style along with her stage presence & artistic depth which makes her one of Australia’s most exciting & original new artists. After being discovered by Professor Griff (Public Enemy), Candice was flown to Atlanta, Georgia to record her first demo CD produced by Griff himself. There she worked with Atlanta’s Jason Orr (The FunkJazz Kafe) in 2003 and later returned to to the US in 2005 where she recorded with Neo-Soul Producer, Rich Medina in Harlem NYC.

Candice returned to her new home in Melbourne and formed her stunning five piece band, The Optics, whose first album, In My Soul, was released on Freestyle Records UK in 2010. The band are currently recording a second album for release this year on Freestyle.

She also featured on a track called Me Vs World, on the latest album by Simplex, as well as appearing on Moneykat’s single Nothing Is Safe produced by Lotek and stars in their new video clip for the song. Candice is also the front-woman for Metals (Illusive Records) who’s latest single was a collaboration written with rapper 360, and producer Styalz Fuego. Eloquor – Human Condition Video Clip

8 12 2011

Eloquor thrives as a storyteller, his tracks tell of both hardship and resilience, leaving behind a lingering sense of realistic optimism. Produced by Simplex, Human Condition explores the notion of attempting to reach a common ground based on the inherit similarities of all human beings.

The sentiments strewn through Eloquors rhymes promote dignity and the importance of living life by your own design. One of the most persevering, hard-working emcees in the game; Eloquor has earned his stripes performing alongside industry heavyweights such as Pegz, Briggs, and the Hilltop Hoods.

Thematically Eloquor delves into some of the most pressing issues humanity has to face in the future. Despite the subject matter, his message is a positive one, urging humankind to use what they have and rise above the mindlessness and materialism destroying our international situation.

Eloquor – Human Condition is now available at selected music retailers, itunes and Bigcrate. The Human Condition video was directed by Carl Allison. Eloquor will be launching his EP Human Condition with In Good Company Saturday 17 Dec @Revolver Upstairs.

The release credits contributing efforts from 1/6 and Pegz, production mastery from Suffa and Simplex, with featured cuts by DJ 2Buck and Slap618. The album is a banger, and will undoubtedly earn this hard-working emcee some new fans with its catchy hooks and inspiring sentiment. Watch this space for more details anticipating the release date!
