New Video Clip: 360 – Run Alone

6 08 2012

The last couple of months have seen Melbourne rapper 360 embark on his massive national Flying Tour, of which all 19 show dates were completely sold out. Huge crowds across Australia crammed into venues to catch the electrifying 360 live show and left the venue hot sweaty and extremely satisfied.

Sixty now has his eyes firmly set on some massive festival performances in the months ahead, with his recent set at Splendour in the Grass, his upcoming performance at Fat As Butter in Newcastle, the Foreshore Festival in Canberra and a very special performance at the V8 Supercars Armor All Gold Coast 600. As always Six never likes to do things by halves, so once again he will jet off overseas later in the year to support the release of his highly successful Falling & Flying album in Europe and Canada.

360′s brand new single Run Alone, lifted from the album Falling & Flying has just been released alongside a brand new film clip. You can pick the new single up on iTunes here

Low Budget – A Hard Act To Follow [Free Download]

7 03 2011

After a stellar 2009 in which ribald hip hop duo Low Budget released their sophomore longplayer Laserdisc to critical acclaim, slid their single Tailor Made into the AIR charts and won Triple J’s Unearthed competition to electrify Splendour in the Grass (not to mention notching up high-profile supporting slots for the likes of Nas and Redman & Method Man), the Melbourne pair is back in the laboratory putting the finishing touches on their latest piece of weird science – the forthcoming Poolside EP.

A Hard Act to Follow, the lead single from the EP, finds MC Gentleman Gene’s lothario flow skating with finesse over DJ/producer Debonair P’s finger-popping wild west funk. The result is a perfect illustration of the energetic back-to-basics approach that has both enticed a steady stream of fans and made the group a long-standing favourite on the live circuit. With A Hard Act to Follow, Low Budget delivers an enticing taste of what promises to be one of 2011’s most entertaining releases.
New EP ‘Poolside’ out May 2011 (free download / limited vinyl)

Sole’d Out- A documentary on the sneaker craze

12 07 2009

SoledOut

Australia’s reply to Just For Kicks, Sole’d Out premiers in Melbourne on the 31st of July. Low Budget will be performing on the night you can check the trailer here.

Since their emergence in 2005, Low Budget has established an enduring presence on the Australian hip hop scene. Following the widespread buzz generated by their self-released mixtape in 2005, the group’s jazzy debut album, Magnasound, was one of the surprise success stories of 2006, drawing universal enthusiasm and praise from critics and fans alike.

On the back of the critical triumph and public acclaim of Magnasound, Low Budget quickly solidified their reputation as one of the most energetic and engaging acts on Melbourne’s live scene, amassing a long list of support slots for international acts such as People Under the Stairs, Atmosphere and J Live, and local names including Funkoars, Pegz, Muph & Plutonic and Downsyde. The process of crafting songs for their celebrated live show was instrumental in forging the group’s second long-player, Laserdisc.

Laserdisc has been more than two years in the making, and has received a fantastic response so far. Laserdisc is available now on CD in JB Hi-Fi and all good record stores and iTunes. Limited edition clear vinyl copies now available from us and good record stores, only 250 copies of this were pressed, so be sure get in quick to avoid disappointment!!

The guys have also been selected by the good people at JJJ to perform at the Splendour In The Grass festival being held at Byron Bay later this month.

There should be some new tracks from Low Budget available to download at the JJJ Unearthed website site in the very near future so please swing past when and grab a copy here.

Home and Hosed also did a write up aon Low Budget, you can check that out at the Home and Hosed blog here.
The premiere is gold coin donation entry, Friday July 31, Bendigo Hotel, Collingwood. Find out more info here.

DOWNSYDE – DRAPHT, SPLENDID

19 06 2009

Drapht__Downsyde

Fans of the beat rejoice! In what will be a huge treat for hip hop fans; two of Australia’s favourite acts are joining together for a special appearance at SPLENDOUR 09. Earlier this year, long time west coast kings DOWNSYDE teamed up with new kid on the block DRAPHT, for a take-no-prisoners performance that proved to be a force to be reckoned with. Both acts took their current albums (DOWNSYDE with All City and DRAPHT with Brothers Grimm) out on the road, on the largest tour either act has taken on for years. With a combined set that’s going to knock people’s socks off, the live show will feature a collection of killer cuts from their collective back catalogue and a long history of working together. Be sure to catch this 16-legged beast, DOWNSYDE AND DRAPHT as they get the party started at SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS.
