Horrorshow – Walk You Home Tour + Free Download

24 08 2010

Elefant Traks is pleased to announce Horrorshow’s Walk You Home Tour with 8 shows nationwide this August/September.
The horse that is Horrorshow’s live reputation has bolted! Their Inside Story tour earlier this year was a smashing success playing to over 4000 people including 2 sellout Sydney shows (the first selling out 3 weeks in advance) at the Factory.

The buzz around Horrorshow keeps growing: their evocative, ego-free hip-hop continues to strike a chord with a diverse and growing legion of devoted fans. They were recently featured in J-MAG for the tattoos fans have made out of their lyrics. After appearances supporting Hilltop Hoods in England and Germany, as well as a spot on the sold out Splendour In The Grass, Horrorshow will be perfectly prepared for a thrilling tour to complete an amazing run since their Inside Story album came out in 2009.

In support is Melbourne’s rising star Seth Sentry, whose Waitress Song was one of 2009′s best loved tunes, coming in at #31 on triple j’s Hottest 100. Fresh from an Unearthed J Award nomination, Seth’s debut album is now very much anticipated.

Horrorshow Inside Story Tour – Melbourne Show Review

21 03 2010

Joey Smiles hits the Horrorshow - Inside Story Tour in Melbourne here’s what he had to say:

Horrorshow and Spit Syndicate took to the stage in Melbourne on Friday night for some unforgettable live hip hop. The sold out show nearly tore the roof off The Evelyn Hotel and was testament to the growing fanbase these groups have been receiving across the country. Doors opened about 9:30pm and Melbourne local Tys opened up with some tight, original raps over some well-known instrumental tracks including Roots Manuva’s Witness The Fitness and DJ Shadow’s chilled masterpiece Midnight In A Perfect World.

Spit Syndicate’s Nick Lupi and Just Enuff were up next. Joined by DJ Joyride, the boys wasted no time getting the crowd into it by playing tracks off their debut album Towards The Light. The venue was definitely not the biggest but the packed in punters were all hyped and hands were in the air from the very beginning. Looking around the room, I was surprised to see so many Melbourne artists in the crowd. Seth Sentry, Muph, Pez, M-Phazes, Geko, Diafrix and Illy all showed up to support the groups and they were not disappointed.
Next up in the set the guys played some new songs from their upcoming sophomore Exile . They played Crooks and Crimescenes first up which had a catchy chorus followed by an ode to graffiti, Kings Way. After a few more tracks and a fresh freestyle, they closed the set with the song Lost Boys and the crowd bounced like they were on pogo sticks.

Horrorshow’s DJ Adit and emcee Solo came on just before midnight and opened with some of their harder tracks like Inside Story and Uplift before playing the more catchy songs like Thoughtcrime, The Show, She and Solo’s heartfelt Walk You Home which went down very well with the ladies – and there were certainly a lot of them there!

Melbournians were treated to a special performance when Horrorshow played a new song from M-Phazes album For What It’s Worth. Other highlights included Waiting for The 5.04, No Rides Left and Truth Be Told. Not long after this, Solo welcomed Spit Syndicate back onstage to do some songs together including a new banger from Exile and the tracks Neighbourhood Hit and Choose None. Melbourne emcee Illy also joined the two groups onstage for the first ever live performance of Red Light, Green Light with all four emcees present.
Horrorshow closed the night with the solid track The Rain around 1:15ish after a long and energetic set. Both groups thanked the crowd and seemed genuinely humbled for the energy Melbourne showed.
