Queensland hip-hop talents Seven (Triple J Unearthed winner), Syntax, Vegas Aces, Choose Mics and Tommy Ill have joined forces to record a new charity single, Together, to support communities ravaged by devastating floods throughout the state. The track, recorded under the moniker of Rap Relief, is now available for download from www.raprelief.com for a charitable donation of AU$2.00.
All proceeds from sales of Together will be donated directly to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html, a fund set up to rebuild Queensland communities affected by the recent floods. Track producer Simon Mula (of Choose Mics) said all of the artists involved jumped at the chance to lend a hand to the flood relief effort.
“In a crisis like this, it’s important that everyone gets in and lends a hand in their own unique way – whether that’s with a shovel, a mop or a microphone. Hopefully we’ve made a quality hip-hop track that people will enjoy enough to purchase, so that we can raise a bit of money to help get our fellow Queenslanders back on their feet.”
