Tom Showtime – Production Showcase

Tom Showtime began collecting and spinning records in London in early 2000, indubitably motivated by the collection of English house DJ’s and producers sharing his house. After several years, he returned home to Melbourne to release The Showtime EP; a head nodding Trip Hop odyssey showcasing original horn lines and broken beats.

With notable inspirations such as DJ Shadow, Mr. Scruff, Quantic and Bonobo as well as a fervent obsession with sampling old funk, latin and jazz – there was no doubt that Tom Showtime was soon to be heard. With Tom Showtime’s debut album The Jam Thief due for release in early 2012 on Obese Records, his recent EP ep3013 gave listeners a taste of what’s to come.

With Showtime’s career already snowballing, 2012 will see a series of reworked classics released on 45’s for UK label Sub Funk, flawlessly demonstrating his flare for remixing. This project observes Tom collaborating with artists such as Agent 86, The Captain, Dancefloor Outlaws and The Ghetto Funk Allstars. Check out below Tom Showtime’s recent Production Showcase, mixed live on 87.6 KISSfm featuring tracks from The Showtime EP (2008) and The Jam Theif LP. Also Previewing future releases on Sub Funk and other cheeky bootlegs.
