Fresh from releasing their acclaimed 7th album, There Were Seven The Herbaliser are escaping the UK and heading South for an 8 date DJ tour of Australia, including appearances at the WOMAD Festival in Adelaide and Perth’s International Arts Festival.
Hailed by the press as a “buoyant return” (Clash), with repeated listens an “enjoyable must” (BBC Music) and a “return to greatness” (AllMusic), There Were Seven sees the band, 18 years into their career, still at the very top of their game. Visas sorted, flights booked and record bags packed, Jake & Ollie are ready to bring their funk-infused hip-hop (or hip-hop-infused funk, depending on your perspective) to the clubs and festivals of Australia.
“Its been more than a year since we were last in Oz and we can’t wait for this one. Aside from the fact that we get to go from probably the nastiest weather the UK has to offer, to blazing hot Australian sunshine, it really will be grand to get to play some tunes to the Down Under crew.
Australian crowds have always shown an appreciation for the funkier, jazzier side of music, they love a bit of hiphoppiness and all of these things are our speciality. One day it would be fantastic to get the Herbaliser Band out there as we know that would definitely tickle their funkybones.” – DJ Ollie Teeba
