Converse CONS and Polar Skate Co. Debut First Collection

Today, CONVERSE Inc. introduces the Fall Converse CONS Polar Skate Co. Collection, marking the brand’s first collaboration with the inspirational Swedish skateboarding company founded by Converse CONS ambassador, Pontus Alv, in 2010. The collection is stylishly embellished with the Polar Skate Co. logo and reflects the creative attitude of both brands.

A rising star in the global skateboarding scene, Polar Skate Co. constantly pushes the boundaries of skateboarding culture from its base in Malmö, Sweden – all the while bringing a unique sense of fun, style and creativity that is synonymous with a new wave of brands that are transforming the skate industry. This new collection was born of Pontus Alv’s desire to create a range of products that he and his crew would want to wear, and features CONS CTAS Pro sneakers in both hi-top and ox silhouettes.

“We are stoked to work with Converse CONS on our first collaborative collection,” says Pontus Alv, Founder of Polar Skate Co., “We’ve wanted to create a super-clean Chuck Taylor Pro in suede right from the beginning of working together. They skate really well, they look great and they last.”

The Converse CONS Polar Skate Co. CTAS Pro sneakers are a perfect blend of subtle designs with premium, durable finishes – all reflecting a typically minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic. Crafted in black, natural and navy suedes, all three sneakers have clean white midsoles and toecaps allowing the simple colour blocking to stand out. To bring to life the playfulness that the Swedish brand is renowned for, “happy/sad” faces adorn the heel tabs and inner tongue labels, while leather heel strips run vertically up the back of each sneaker, adding a refined feel to the collection. The hi-top silhouette also conveys Alv’s familiar hand-written slogan, “Inspire others to inspire themselves” – encouraging pro-active creativity in everyone who wears them.

Performance features of the Converse CONS CTAS Pro sneakers include premium abrasion-resistant suede uppers, a moulded, multi-density Lunarlon sockliner for extra comfort and impact protection, traction rubber vulcanized outsoles and waxed laces

The Converse CONS Polar Skate Co. Collection will be available in limited quantities from finer skate doors along with the Converse Flagship Melbourne Central Store and www.converse.com.au, beginning Saturday, October 4. The sneakers will retail for RRP $120.
