Australian Famous is the sophomore EP from Melbourne MC and all round funny guy, Clue. After making waves with his previous single, Waves, the EP is out now!
The lead single, Guy Problems, satires the life of an average male and all the incredible first world problems they suffer. From avoiding a toilet seat covered in urine, to pretending to know how to fix a broken down car, the plights of the average male are prevalent throughout the track.
Clue flows effortlessly over Patty Boomba’s head nodding production, painting vivid scenes and capturing the audience with his Seth Sentry-esc story telling abilities. The hook, co-written by Dylan Joel, is catchy and melodic. It breaks up each scenario while keeping the audience’s interest and allows Clue to seamlessly transport them to the next issue.
“You, you, gotta be kidding me.
Fuck, dude, as if you ain’t feeling me.
I got Guy Problems, you don’t understand.
I got Guy Problems, you don’t understand.”
Australian Famous takes a step in a new direction for Hip Hop in Australia, blending unique wordplay and lyricism with stand-up comedy reminiscent of Jerry Seinfeld or Larry David.
The second single Ballin’ due to be pushed post EP release features Clue’s trademark humour and story telling ability. The track, produced by Patty Boomba features a darker composition bridging the gap between boom bap and the more aggressive trap genre.
Clue started 2018 with a bang, selling out his EP premier at Grumpy’s and plans to keep the ball rolling with a number of local headline shows and a third EP due to be released towards the end of the year.
