Independent Brisbane based artist Carmouflage Rose has amassed more than 3 million streams on Spotify for his debut track ‘Late Nights’, in the eight months since the track’s release on the service.
‘Late Nights’ has been proactively featured in Australia’s flagship R&B/Hip-Hop playlists A1 Hip Hop, Urban Flavour, All Aussie Hip Hop, and R&B Connect – the four playlists combined boast a following of over 500,000 people. The track has also enjoyed support across other local Spotify playlists, R&B Feels, Mellow Styles, House Party and The Local List.
“Since the first listen, we felt very strongly about Late Nights and subsequently championed it across our local playlist portfolio. It immediately connected with Spotify’s audience,” commented Peter Stevens, Music Editor at Spotify Australia.
Whilst the majority of Carmouflage Rose’s listens are happening in his home country of Australia, he is also quietly gaining traction in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
“We have been stoked with the level of support Spotify has thrown behind Late Nights, and the success the song has generated to date. We can only say, watch this space. There are big things to come for Carmouflage Rose in the very near future,” commented manager Josh Taylor-Anderson.
“It’s an exciting time for Australian Hip Hop and R&B, and Carmouflage Rose is an artist to look out for in this space (and beyond). We are thrilled to be a part of his story,” Stevens added.
