In honour of the 30th anniversary of the Air Force 1, Nike hosted Vote Forward, a design competition amongst 12 Revolutionairs to create one of the next Nike Air silhouettes.
Open to the public, consumers could browse the shoes and vote for their favourite from the 12 styles, with Sean Wotherspoon, a vintage clothing connoisseur and long time Air Max fan from LA, taking home the top seat.
His winning Air Max 1/97 SW design combines the Air Max 97 upper with the Air Max 1 midsole and outsole, and uses a corduroy covering to give a retro feel. This multi coloured corduroy upper blends pastel and earthy tones for an eye-catching look.
The heel also features denim detailing, while a velcro addition on the tongue allows wears to swap out the front graphic.
Nike’s crowd favourite, the Air Max 1/97 SW sneakers will be released for Aussie fans to cop on 24th March at Nike.com and select Australian retailers.
