Following the release of his brand new single and video (Somebody Say) Evil, ex-Butterfingers front man Evil Eddie is hitting the road in June and July for a series of shows in his home state of Queensland.
Released in May, (Somebody Say) Evil is the second single from Eddie’s soon to be released debut album tentatively titled Welcome To Flavour Country. A little bit evil and a little more strange, the track is trademark left-of-centre Eddie – just the way we love it. With an APRA award for Most Performed Urban Work already to his credit, Evil (as he is affectionately known by his ex-girlfriends) shows no signs of straying from his roots (figuratively speaking) and further hones the Hip Hop/Punk blend that riff raff around the world have come to know and moderately like.
The first single off the album, a little diddy about Eddies’ home-state aptly titled Queensland, was released at the end of last year. Although some were shocked and appalled at the lyrical content of the track, it seems that the majority of Australians were quite taken with Eddie’s brilliantly uncouth musings. Not only has the video for Queensland racked up 105,000+ views on Youtube, but the track also reached the #1 position on triple J’s Super Request, and was voted #86 in triple J’s Hottest 100 for 2010.
Don’t miss Evil Eddie as he tears-up Queensland in June and July.
