A brand new single from Illy’s upcoming new album Cinematic, has just been released and is titled Youngbloods. The hardcore inspired tune features Ahren Stringer of The Amity Affliction. The single has premiered on triple j and is due out for digital release tomorrow.
“It’s called Youngbloods, and it features Ahren Stringer from The Amity Affliction,” he said. “It’s actually an Amity Affliction hook that I took and re-appropriated. Hopefully the hardcore fans feel we’ve done it justice. It’s not like sampling – Ahren actually came in and sang it specifically for this recording so you can really tell the difference.
I’ve been working on this album since before [2012 release] Bring It Back. This one sounded different, so I kept those tracks on the backburner. So it wasn’t like I just finished that one and started a new one. It’s been in the works for quite a while.” – Illy
