Universal Music Publishing Group – Australia (UMPG) has signed ARIA Award winning Melbourne-based songwriter and producer M-Phazes to an exclusive, world-wide publishing agreement.
“M-Phazes is a songwriter and producer of the highest order – a creative visionary with serious technical ability. I am excited and proud that Mark has chosen to sign with UMPG on a global basis. M-Phazes‘ already impressive list of credits will no doubt continue to grow with UMPG on the team,” said Heath Johns, Director of A&R, UMPG.
Born on the Gold Coast and now based in Melbourne, M-Phazes has worked with a diverse range of local and international artists including Kimbra, 360, Amerie, Eskimo Joe and Talib Kweli amongst many others. Most recently, M-Phazes is the co-writer and co-producer of Bad Guy the album opener on Eminem’s much anticipated new LP The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
As part of UMPG’s strategy to have M-Phazes engaged on international projects, it is anticipated that M-Phazes will split his time between his studio in Melbourne, the US and the UK.
“It’s great to be joining such an incredible roster of songwriters and I’m looking forward to working with the team at UMPG,” said M-Phazes.
Signed to Warner/It’s Official Music, M-Phazes is also a successful artist in his own right with his 2010 debut Good Gracious awarded an ARIA for Best Urban Album. The follow-up is set for release in 2014.
