In a landmark year for the group, this past week has been particularly huge for Sydney’s Bliss n Eso. In a trio of major live announcements, BNE began the week announcing a very special performance at the upcoming 2013 ARIA Awards in December, revealed as a main-stage act on January’s 2014 Big Day Out tour and booked as headliner at Adelaide’s Clipsal 500 V8 Race.
Today, the news keeps on rolling as the hip-hop heavyweights release arguably their most captivating music video yet – My Life featuring US singer/songwriter Ceekay Jones.
Combining an astounding array of footage taken from the band’s recent travels performing for Australian troops in war-torn Afghanistan and touring North America, alongside moving videotape of their friends in key moments from the world of action sports, the My Life music video provides a chillingly aspirational moment, fitting for a group borne from a sense of positivity and unity.
Centred around Australian FMX athlete Cam Sinclair’s shocking near-fatal crash at the 2009 Red Bull X Fighters Freestyle Motocross event in Madrid, and his incredible subsequent comeback at the 2010 X Games in Los Angeles, My Life also features the amazing exploits of some of action sports biggest names Robbie Maddison, TJ Lavin, Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, Jaie Toohey, Cam White and James Doerfling.
This video caps off an enormous year for Bliss n Eso, with album Circus In The Sky becoming certified Gold within ten days of its release, a massive sold-out national tour and major exposure through a key partnership with the AFL and Channel Seven during the AFL Final Series amongst many other achievements.
