On December 10, funk-duo 7 Days of Funk (Dam-Funk and Snoopzilla – aka Snoop Dogg), release their highly anticipated self-titled album, 7 Days of Funk. Streaming exclusively on Rdio through December 24, the sophisticated modern funk release features guest appearances from Daz, Kurupt, Bootsy Collins and Steve Arrington. In addition, the Rdio edition of 7 Days of Funk will feature bonus track “Wingz,” which will continue to be available only on Rdio after the streaming exclusive.
The exclusive stream, including bonus track “Wingz,” is currently available on Rdio and easily embeddable via the Rdio player. “I’m excited to bring the funk to Rdio,” says Snoopzilla. “Me and my man Dam-Funk grew up on Kool & The Gang, Parliament Funkadelic and The Gap Band, and we wanted to recreate the funk with modern vibes for 7 Days of Funk. And because I got love for all my Rdio fans, I’m giving y’all an exclusive track, called ‘Wingz‘.”
To kick off Rdio’s exclusive stream of 7 Days of Funk, Snoopzilla is also taking creative control of the Rdio New Music Weekly video series with a fresh clip centered around the album track “Do My Thang.” The Rdio New Music Weekly series brings together the best in independent art and music with original video pieces inspired by a new release launching each Tuesday and has featured artists such as Alt-J, MGMT and Elvis Costello & The Roots. 7 Days of Funk’s “Do My Thang” clip marks the first time an artist has given direct creative input on the final video piece.
