Coming from the east side of Sydney, Corner Store Superheroes is the collaborative effort of Sydney singer/producer Kid Fiction and rapper Eddy B. With rapid fire, no holes barred lyricism and melodic, Jamaican influenced future beats production with a bass heavy aesthetic, Corner Store Superheroes bring a fresh approach to the local Hip Hop scene.
As a solo producer, Kid Fiction’s music has received solid support from local community and international radio as well as JJJ Unearthed, he was featured at number 9 in Radar Music’s “Top 20 Aussie Electronic Artists You Need To Know” in 2012. As a part of the OneOFour Collective, he was part of the new wave of local beat makers that has recently put our Australian electronic music on the map.
The two joined forces when Eddy B, who had been writing mainly poetry, returned from London with notebooks full of fresh new grime influenced verses and a new love for UK Bass. Since then they have quietly amassed a large body of music, scheduled to be released through 2014/2015.
Following the success of their debut single Balloon, comes the collaboration with Sydney vocalist Kye on their 2nd single, Rebels. With twisting baselines, machine gun flows and futuristic synths, Rebels sees Corner Store Superheroes break out with an energetic left turn. With an EP on the way, Corner Store Superheroes have also been busy booking shows in and around Sydney, locking in shows this month with local hip hop heavyweights True Vibenation at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi on the 20th and Daily Meds at Newtown Hotel on the 30th.
