Melbourne indie rapper JUÑOR releases new single ’SUTHN WOT’ ft. IVAN OOZE (Prod. by RENZ), and is currently on tour Australia Wide.
SUTHN WOT is the second single from rising Melbourne rapper JUÑOR (pronounced Junior). Following the praise for his debut single weGOTthis JUÑOR said about the latest drop, “It’s simply about us doing us, no matter what that is and recognizing our roots. Ivan Ooze is obviously one of my closest friends and Renz and I are very good mates, so creating this was super organic. I introduce myself, who I am & what I’m about, Ivan Ooze comes through hard hitting with some home truths as per usual and Renz brings his signature future dance sound. It’s a fun song, but says quite a bit if you look deeper than the surface ”
Recently completing a month-long residency at renowned Melbourne Hip-Hop venue Laundry Bar, it’s been an exciting twelve months for rising star JUÑOR! A year which saw the Melbourne rapper and his hip-hop collective R.E.A.L Music land a mammoth number of support slots, playing shows with International and Local artists including T-Pain, Bliss n Eso, Seth Sentry, Horrorshow, Jakubi, Watsky, Allday, Remi & Lyall Moloney. If that wasn’t enough already, JUÑOR culminated the year playing 2 sets (R.E.A.L Music & IVAN OOZE) at BEYOND THE VALLEY MUSIC FESTIVAL over NYE!
Having lived with the nickname for majority of his life, there’s more to JUÑOR than seamlessly rhyming words to hit the feels in his own original way. Originally a drummer as a child, he can also be seen behind the boards producing beats & sound engineering for several Australian acts and touring as DJ/Live Pads for fellow Melbourne rapper and regular collaborator IVAN OOZE. A collection of talents that has led to the respect of musicians not confined solely to the Hip-Hop genre.
For having achieved quite a reputation on the live music circuit at only 21 years old, SUTHN WOT marks the lead in to the ever so close release of JUÑOR’s anticipated debut EP ‘Fluorescent Connections’. A genre-defying record set to push the boundaries of what Australia recognises as Hip-Hop.
