The response to singles, ‘Through The Roof’ and ‘The Buzz’ has been breathtaking – the latter picked up by commercial radio without being serviced – a fitting show of enthusiasm as they take bigger steps onto the international stage.

The album is made up of bold and bright movement. The opener ‘Hijinks’ is like a machine awakening, gaining speed quickly to full throttle on the banging ‘Through The Roof’, ‘Searchlight’ and ‘The Buzz’, pulling back to the restrained and beautiful ‘Ukiyo’ and ‘Hazy Love’ and finally ending with the arresting ‘Searchlight Reprise’. Dark Night Sweet Light is an album that surprises, intrigues and satisfies in equal measure.

With their world opening its arms to Hermitude, the lifelong friendship of Elgusto and Luke Dubs is surely a key ingredient of the incredible story of their longevity and shared creative vision. They’re five albums in before they signed a worldwide deal with Nettwerk Records, embarking on international tours playing the biggest venues of their careers. If that’s not a great story, then we don’t know what is.
