Niche are excited to announce the addition of B Wise to the local agency roster. The African-Australian Hip Hop artist, also nicknamed “The Benchman”, is now ready to get off the bench and play in the major leagues.
His infectious new single, ‘Prince Akeem’ (produced by Raph Lauren of Jackie Onassis/One Day fame), was recently named one of the 15 Best Australian Singles Of 2015 (So Far) and is just a glimpse of what’s to come. After opening up for Jackie O in November, Raph was so impressed by Wise’s live show that he hit him up the next day offering his production services.
The result, an upbeat colourful track named after Eddie Murphy’s character in Coming To America (B Wise’s favourite film), which has received spins on triple j, community radio additions and love from tastemaker media around the country, such as The AU Review, allaussiehiphop.com and more.
An energetic live performer, he has previously supported the likes of G-Eazy, Souls Of Mischief, Jackie Onassis, Diafrix, David Dallas, Kid Cudi, GZA (Wu-Tang) and The Cool Kids, gaining new fans whenever he touches the stage.
‘Prince Akeem’ serves as the second offering from B Wise’s upcoming debut album due for release later this year. He is currently crafting the full length with production coming from Nic Martin (360, Seth Sentry, Pez), Raph Lauren (Jackie Onassis, One Day), Momo (Diafrix), Pro/Gram (Bliss n Eso, Hau) and Colourd Noyz, just to name a few.
