It could be something in the water or just the abundance of good weed, either way the Blue Mountains has a way of producing some of the finest Hip Hop artists in the country such as Urthboy, Hermitude and Thundamentals.

Otherside are by no means an exception to this rule as they have firmly established themselves as the next generation to carry the mantle of this fine tradition.

Otherside is a four member crew comprising of two emcees Wise Guy and Hammy, veteran producer Caustic Yoda (Cooking with Caustic) and DJ Platterpush (Down Under Beats) that are creating a unique combination of poetic lyricism, classic 90’s Boom Bap beats and complex Turntablism.

The latest offering from the group is their 2nd EP ‘Slug’ which is being released as both a limited edition 7” vinyl and as a 5 track EP in digital format and features the title track video single ‘Slug.’

‘Slug’ see’s the group tackle a more street rugged anthem powered by Caustic’s unique production skills along with Wise Guy and Hammy’s wordplay, humour and emphasis on lyrical technicality. Platterpush brings the ruckus with one of those in ya face DJ cut-up hooks he’s become renowned for.

The new release sees the group packing up their bags to head out on the road for their first East Coast tour throughout late March and April promoting the ‘Slug’ EP.
