Due to overwhelming demand, Grammy, Golden Globe and Emmy-Award winning and multi-talented recording artist and innovator Donald Glover, a.k.a. CHILDISH GAMBINO, has announced a second performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House Forecourt for his run of Australian headline shows this summer.

Tickets for all shows including the additional Sydney Opera House performance are on sale midday, Friday June 29.

The double-triple threat – rapper/writer/producer/director/actor/comedian (and we should probably add dancer) – will now perform four all ages shows starting out at Perth’s HBF Stadium on November 8 then heading onto Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on November 10 and the iconic setting of the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on November 14 and 15.

In 2017, Time magazine listed Donald Glover among ‘The 100 Most Influential People’ – and they weren’t wrong. Last month Donald Glover’s rapper alter ego, Childish Gambino, debuted “This Is America” while hosting and performing on Saturday Night Live, coinciding with the drop of that video. Hailed by many as the video of the year (if not the decade), the landmark video took the internet and the world by storm with fans and critics alike dissecting the captivatingly powerful, brutal, bleak and wonderful visualisation over multiple viewings. Netting 85.3 million views in its first week, “This Is America” has exceeded a staggering 291 million YouTube views.

Wasting no time in hitting the #1 spot across charts worldwide including the ARIA Chart and Billboard’s Hot 100, “This is America” precedes the release of the highly anticipated fourth album by Childish Gambino, following debut album Camp (2011), Because the Internet (2013) and Awaken, My Love! (2016). Gambino was nominated for Grammy Awards in 2015 for Best Rap Album for Because the Internet and Best Rap Performance for his single “3005″. In 2018 he was nominated for five Grammy Awards including, Album of the Year for Awaken, My Love!  and Record of the Year for the hit “Redbone,” winning the Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance.

Stepping away from Childish Gambino, Donald Glover’s scope of talent is seemingly boundless, extending to writing, directing and acting credits on hugely successful TV shows such as 30 Rock and Community, and he is the force behind the critically acclaimed series, Atlanta. Additionally, Glover has numerous movie credits, most recently playing Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story and is cast as the voice of Simba for Disney’s remake of The Lion King

Ahead of taking his PHAROS concert experience to New Zealand, Childish Gambino’s select Australian shows this November are not to be missed.
