Mantra added to the Obese Block Party Tour 2009

Obese Records’ latest family member is a late addition to the already spectacular lineup of performers at this year’s Block Party Tour. Mantra, has been confirmed to perform at the Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney legs of the tour joining Drapht, Muph & Plutonic, and Gully Platoon in those cities. Mantra confirmed as Obese Records latest!

Obese Records is proud to announce the signing of Melbourne’s Mantra to the family. Mantra is known for his pivotal role as part of local outfit Illzilla, whose 2008 debut full length Wasteland, received both critical and commercial reception (the single “Cut Feet” featured prominently on Triple J). The moment that some would say, changed Mantra’s life forever. That’s right ladies and gentleman Melbourne emcee, Mantra has officially signed with Obese Records. Obese were hinting at the new signing all day on Twitter and even released this photo of the contract signing itself. Gully Platoon – Nothing To Lose Film Clip

The brand new Gully Platoon video for the track “Nothing To Lose” has premiered on the official Gully Platoon MySpace page. The explosive video was filmed and directed by Artifact (Dialectrix, Astronomy Class) and goes where no aussie hip hop video has gone before. The video drops Gully Platoon in the middle of a heated battle between the forces of good and evil; punctuated by explosions, gunfire, deception, and some heavy mutha fukin artillery.
