Arguably the most outspoken but also well-rounded performers in local hip hop, The Tongue’s new video illustrates exactly why he stands out from an often conservative scene. The list of characters he plays include a police officer; a struggling single mum; a sex worker; a drug dealer; and a window washer. The art is in how The Tongue’s performance transforms what could be dismissed as slapstick into something poignant. He is an infamous MC battle champion, seasoned touring artist and a prolific songwriter, with two albums (Shock And Awe and Alternative Energy); three mixtapes and an EP (Bad Education) to his name.
