Yes were back once again with another installment of “Cover Of The Moment“. This time we have Bliss N Eso’s Flying Colours Deluxe Edition.
It was a wet and cold weekend. I was looking for something to warm me up for for a big Saturday night. Bliss N Eso’s Flying Colours Deluxe Edition was just the thing. As I strolled into my local aussie hip hop store, I was stopped in my tracks. There on the bench, reflecting in the sun, was a stunning CD/DVD package. As I held the package in my hand I was blown away by the detail the guys had gone too. Gracing the cover was still the amazing artwork by tattoo artist, Steve Cross. Yet we now see an underlay of cool concert and travel pics of the lads. Every second square had been UV spot varnished (for all the designers out there), which gave the cover a great textured feel.
I was excited to unwrap it. I had to wait till I got home. Once unwrapped and opened I was greated with an amazing shot of DJ IZM, the two discs either side looked sick. Hidden behind DJ IZM was the lyric book. Another quality print, stylin with gold metallic type.
The creative minds at April77 never seem to let me down. As I can tell April77 was once again involved in this tight design. I’m always happy to see a A77 logo on my aussie hip hop CD’s. Head over to the studio site here.
Bliss had this to say to ‘inthemix‘ about the orginal version of the album artwork and the concept behind it.
“With this album we wanted to do something a bit different than just pictures of us. We kinda wanted to go a little bit more creative and imaginative. We thought of this concept of this guy like leaping off this cliff with these flaming colourful wings, and it kind of really worked with the context of this album and obviously the title.”
