Just as Thundamentals have recovered from their insane sold out tour in support of celebrated third album So We Can Remember, the boys are in the Land Of The Long White Cloud [that’s New Zealand, everyone] in support of local hip hop trailblazers Hilltop Hoods, releasing a brand new film clip for album track Quit Your Job’ as a taste of fresh news ahead!
The clip for Quit Your Job starring, and co-scripted by, serial scallywag Jake Stone — who Thundas hatched the plan with after partying backstage at Groovin The Moo’, and whose band Bluejuice have made more than a few hilarious clips of their own — is another stellar example of how Thundas are at the forefront of producing memorable film clips, with tongues firmly in cheeks of course, to provide a visual to the next instalment of their “innovative” music.
Soundly championed by heartfelt supporters triple j, Quit Your Job is one of the catchiest jams from the recently released So We Can Remember, providing disgruntled workers across the nation a soundtrack to their worksite daydreams.
The runaway chart successes of first two singles Smiles Don’t Lie and Something I Said feat. Thom Crawford saw the So We Can Remember tour sell out almost to the day the album dropped, before So We Can Remember cemented the trio as the “new benchmark for local hip-hop”, topping every chart in the country, holding position as #1 Independent Album for 5 weeks [AIR], debuting at #1 on the iTunes Album Charts and climbing the ARIA Albums Charts to #3
But with the record presented by triple j as Feature Album and Fbi FM as Album Of The Week, and Something I Said feat. Thom Crawford crossing over to commercial radio [Today Network via the ‘Aust Top 20’ show, 2DAY FM, NOVA 106.9 Brisbane] not to mention the groundswell of support from the community radio stations that gave them a leg up in the first place, this release goes deeper than hype.
