Bliss N Eso Reveal Details Of ‘Off The Grid’ Album Out March 2017

A few weeks back Bliss n Eso joined triple j’s Veronica & Lewis in studio to premiere their brand new single ‘Friend Like You (feat. Lee Fields)’ and reveal the title to their highly anticipated sixth studio album, Off The Grid. This morning MC Bliss, MC Eso and DJ Izm are thrilled to announce that Off The Grid will drop Friday 10 March with the vinyl release set for Friday 7 April. Pre-orders for all forms of the album are now available.

‘Friend Like You’ features legendary US soul singer Lee Fields and is a raw reflection of the hard times everyone goes through at some point during life. MC Bliss explains, “Sometimes those dark times feel like they have you trapped and you can be a prisoner of your own mind. The song is an affirmation, a reminder that this prison has been built within your own mind, so at the end of the day you’re the one with the power to break free.”

The powerful vocals of Lee compliment the relatable verses that Bliss n Eso deliver throughout the track: “We wanted to find someone who has literally been through the struggle and you can hear the pain and emotion in their voice. Lee has been through so much in his life, when you hear him sing you can literally see his soul,” MC Eso explains.

‘Friend Like You (feat. Lee Fields)’ follows the group’s first single in over two years, ‘Dopamine (feat. Thief)’. ‘Dopamine’ premiered on triple j in September, followed by a massive performance on the NRL Grand Final Footy Show to an audience of more than a million people. The song features the emotive vocals of fellow-Sydney artist Thief and showcases a different side to the band. Many music critics hailed it as a more progressive and mature sound, signalling the beginning of a new chapter for Bliss n Eso.

To coincide with the release of the first single, the group announced the Dopamine Tour, an intimate run of shows which will see Bliss n Eso take things back to basics and perform in some of the smallest rooms they’ve played in for many years. The Dopamine Tour was a quick sell out with lucky ticket holders across Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane scrambling to be the first to see a showcase of what we can expect on Off the Grid.

After completing their record breaking Circus Under The Stars Tour in mid-2014, the guys went back to the studio for the first time in three years to start work on their sixth album. Continuing the themes of positive thinking and self-belief that have followed their career, the first two singles from Off the Grid reinforce that this truly is the beginning of an exciting new era for Bliss n Eso.

Between the multiple number one charting albums and chart records, various awards and accolades, an unprecedented live presence and the most loyal music fan base in the country, the Sydney trio continue to push not only themselves, but hip-hop, forward in Australia. It is clear that after 15 years in the game, Bliss n Eso are not slowing down, with this long break between releases allowing the trio to reflect as showcased in their new music. Soon you’ll see what else they have up their sleeve on Off the Grid.
