Knapsack Presents New Initiative
Founded by Scott Hudson (formerly Baked Goods), ’Knapsack’ is a green organisation, dedicated to the development of artists in the music industry and offers a variety of outlets to nourish new talent. The innovative ’Australia – New York Hip Hop Exchange’ is the first initiative of it’s kind and an will be hosting a run of shows during the months of September – November, 2017 to raise funds in support of the program.
‘Knapsack’ will be hosting local artists and billing local support acts to branch awareness across the country. In Brisbane, IAMD, at the Black Bear Lounge, Sydney will support LIL Spacely at the notorious Oxford Art Factory , Melbourne show will welcome local talent Mose + The FMLY at The Gasometer, Canberra’s Transit Bar will host Jedbrii, with more shows to be announced!
The exchange will function as a two week international tour; New York Artist to Australia’s east coast and Australian artist to New York and surrounding states, but whilst in the international cities artists will engage themselves in workshops with local artists to help development by introducing foreign techniques and opening channels to international resources, e.g. New York artist spends 4 days in Sydney, performs on the fourth night but spends the first three days sitting down in a function room (or Similar) with open door policy performing Q&A alongside local organisations.
‘Knapsack’ want this project to create a free flowing pipeline through this network exchange and help bring awareness of the cultural scenes on New York And Australia. This exchange program will open up networks for collaboration, development and other innovative business.
