After the success of his debut EP H22 and subsequent East Coast tour in October, Brisbane-via-Papua New Guinea’s JON is not one to sit still for very long. He and labelmate Midas.Gold have combined forces and flows to deliver What I Hear -the first track off JON’s highly anticipated debut LP, due out in 2015.
Produced by Harry Jackson of Psywife, What I Hear is one hell of a leap forward for both artists. From Midas.Gold’s one of a kind voice and lyricism, to JON’s undeniably skilled flow, What I Hear shows the pair as a force to be reckoned with, together and solo.
The accompanying film clip – directed, filmed and edited by Maria Bui – is an aesthetically beautiful video captured in one afternoon during one of Brisbane’s most destructive storms. It seems fitting, as both rappers prepare to destroy 2015 with their imminent releases.
Midas.Gold supported the legendary Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah on the Brisbane leg of his Australia tour.
