Elefant Traks – Hacked!

Elefant Traks website is currently down, as Russian super hackers infiltrate the home of Sydney Hip Hop. The top reasons being considered as to why the hackers targeted Elefant Traks are: Russia couldn’t wait for Spitshine’s August 28 release date. Russia was upset for not being invited to Elefant Traks 10th Anniversary Party. Oksana Grigorieva was pissed Mel didn’t set up a free gig for her at Bondi Beach. Horrorshow – New Single (Thoughtcrime)

Horrorshow are set to release their brand new album, Inside Story, on October 2. Triple J’s Home and Hosed blog, features a little write up on the new drop, we also get a sneak peak at their latest track Thoughtcrime. The first taste of Horrorshow’s forthcoming record is ‘Thoughtcrime‘, replete with the kind of smooth production that characterises a lot of the material produced by Elefant Traks artists: a sound that blends hip-hop rhythms with soul, funk and jazz instrumentation and samples. ‘Thoughtcrime‘ is underpinned by a great backbeat groove, topped off by Solo’s seemingly effortless flow. He reminds me … Continue reading Horrorshow – New Single (Thoughtcrime)

A brave new world…

Check out this article, titled Hip Hop’s Brave New World, it was given the thumbs up on twitter by Urthboy, and it also copped a mention from Obese. The article written by Chris Johnston, and comments on the current state and future of Australian Hip Hop. I may do a follow up on this article as it seems to be a hot topic at the moment. Check below for a small extract. “Diafrix is fundamentally of this country but in a way that makes the idea of Australia and localism dissolve. Rather than being indigenous or suburban or conscious it’s … Continue reading A brave new world…

Cover Of The Moment

It’s time for another cover of the moment, and there have been a few considerations i.e. Seth Sentry’s EP, Levelheaded – The Spice Of Life and Bias B’ – Aerosol Era. As always, there can be only one winner, with Gully Platoon – The Great Divide pipping the others at the post. We got more then expected when we smashed through that plastic wrapper. Aprill77 brings us another stellar piece of work. The buyer of the CD is greeted with a super glossy cover. Upon opening the front side you  find another glossy print this time of Gully Platoon, you … Continue reading Cover Of The Moment

On a side note, I notice a lot of other blogs post videos in the actual post and don’t link the file, but I find this leads to laziness on the … Continue reading Vids vids vids – 360 and M-Phazes
